Becoming a B3rd coach in today’s world is a significant challenge. Society often teaches that coaching is about wins, recognition, and personal success, but the gospel of Jesus Christ calls coaches to lead in a radically different way. The Christian life—both within and beyond athletics—invites coaches to love God first and to lead, serve, and develop athletes with love, humility, and intentional care.
 

Because very few athletes will compete at the professional level, coaches carry a sacred responsibility to help young people understand the deeper why behind their pursuit of excellence. Sport is not the ultimate goal; it is a powerful tool for growth, discipleship, and glorifying God.
 

So what should coaches be teaching through sport? More than skills and schemes—teamwork, character, discipline, and values. When coaches commit to this calling, they help shape young men and women of faith who are prepared to serve God and others long after the final whistle.
